What I (Love to) Do
I am most passionate about the good that education + technology can do for this world. I have over 15 years of experience in edtech, with nearly a decade of experience in Africa. In 2011 I co-founded Eneza Education, one of the most widely used mobile education products across Africa. I led the company for 5 years before working for the predictive analytics company Uptake to help start its philanthropic vertical, Uptake.org in 2016. I was also the Director of Virtual Learning & Community at Teach For All, helping to lead the "virtual-first strategy."
I currently work for Age of Learning, the company behind the #1 digital learning app in the U.S., ABCmouse. I help with product growth and rolling out our products in new markets.
I specialize in building large-scale educational tools and determining distribution channels for those tools across developing countries. I know how to bring people -- organizations, companies, and governments -- together to make large-scale impact possible.
Age of Learning
I am currently the Senior Director of International Product Development. I help bring new international digital & physical products to market and determine product-market fit for our products (including ABCmouse) globally.
Teach For All
September 2018-December 2020
I helped to create and implement Teach For All's 'virtual-first' strategy, leading on the digital transformation of the global organization's learning experiences and professional development offerings as the Director, Virtual Learning & Community. Teach For All is the global network that supports local educational leaders from over 50 countries aiming to ensure that all students reach their educational potential.
August 2016-September 2018
I was on the founding team of Uptake's philanthropic arm, Uptake.org and then led the team as its Director until leaving Uptake. At Uptake.org we leveraged Uptake's people and data-driven insight to address the world's most pressing problems. This included creating the Data Fellows Program, and launching the use of data science for social good products.
June 2011-November 2017
I served as an executive board member for over 6 years after founding Eneza Education. I was also the Eneza CEO for 5 years, setting its product vision and strategic growth strategies, launching the company's initial products, and leading Eneza's founding team. Eneza is one of the most widely used education products across the continent. By the end of 2020, Eneza served over 10M users across 4 countries in Africa.
November 2008-August 2009
I co-founded WISERBridge, a program for over 450 Class 8 students in a rural Kenyan community. WISERBridge utilized a pay-for-performance, community-organizing model that increased accountability in schools, thereby improving student outcomes.
Teach For America
June 2005-August 2008
From 2007-2008 I was a Program Director for TFA, managing 41 teachers in the South Bronx. I was a Corps Member from 2005-2007 in Harlem and achieved what Teach For America called "significant academic gains" (more than 1.5 years of student progress) in both years as a Corps Member.
Oslo Summit on Education
"Creating Sustainable Technology Solutions in Education"
At the Partnerships in Education event, I presented about educational scale in Africa, alongside a panel with the CEOs of Telenor and Minecraft.
